Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Wedgwood lustreware refers to fine pottery decorated with a metallic glaze finish, popularised during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Techniques involved applying thin layers of metallic oxides, such as platinum or copper, over transfer-printed patterns to create an iridescent or mirror-like reflective surface.

These items were typically constructed from earthenware or creamware bases. The blue decoration was applied using underglaze transfer printing, while the metallic sheen was achieved using a silver or platinum oxide overglaze fired at lower temperatures.

Authentic pieces feature impressed or printed maker marks on the base, such as WEDGWOOD alongside country-of-origin marks like MADE IN ENGLAND. Additionally, genuine lustreware exhibits characteristic fine details in the transfer pattern and uniform metallic application along handles and rims.

Graduated jug sets can be arranged on a dining sideboard, open kitchen shelving, or a fireplace mantelpiece to create visual rhythm. Pairing blue and metallic tones alongside neutral timber surfaces or contemporary glass displays provides a balanced accent.

Lustreware surfaces should be cleaned gently using mild liquid soap and warm water with a soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and automated dishwashers must be avoided, as they can wear away the delicate metallic oxide coating.
