Description

A fine portrait of Suleiman the Magnificent, a prominent Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. The painting features Suleiman wearing a large, ornate turban and a richly adorned robe, suggesting his royal status. The frame is elaborate and gilded, matching the opulence of the subject's attire.

The inscription "SOLIMANUS AET XLIII", indicating that the portrait represents Suleiman at the age of 43. Since Suleiman was born in 1494, this would place the depiction around the year 1537.
