Art Nouveau Copper Pot

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910. With makers mark to base for the Carl Deffner Company Germany. Decorated with embossed Glasgow style roses.

Height 9cm.

The Carl Deffner company of Esslingen, Germany, produced decorative copper, brass and plated tableware. Deffner was born in 1856 and took over management of his father's metal ware factory in 1900 and was responsible for many excellent designs during the art nouveau and art deco periods. The factory finely closing in 1959.
