The Fine Art Fund has dated this piece to the Regency era.
There is writing under the two top drawers, possibly the cabinet maker's name. It is a useful size, being not to deep front to back and low enough not to crowd a bedroom, corridor or even dining room if required. Provenance from Glympton Park, Oxfordshire, circa 1820.
