Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The bed has a three quarter canopy over the head end, this is scalloped and moulded with large teardrop turnings
The foot board of the bed is made in solid Flame mahogany, it has a decorative moulded design matching the canopy in the centre with barley twist bed posts
All parts of the bed have been treated for woodworm as there are a few old holes in the plain wood but nothing in the show wood of the bed.
The bed dismantles for transportation but is never the less a very heavy piece and will need reassembling on arrival
The largest measurements of the bed are 78” long, 62” wide, the half tester is 76” high and the foot board is 43” high. The internal measurements i.e. where the mattress sits is 60” wide x 74” long
The bed comes with an old fashioned iron and wood box spring but this could be replaced with a divan of the same size
