M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

Clearly cast showing the hieroglyphic markings on all four elevations . Mounted on square black marble plinth bases , each with a cast bronze ‘picket fence’ surround .
Both in excellent original condition with only minor historic chips to the marble plinth bases . The bronze having a mellow ‘golden’ patina which shows the hieroglyphic markings in well-defined contrast .

Highly decorative pair of bronze ‘Grand Tour’ reduction architectural models to add symmetry to an interior scheme or collection.
The Luxor obelisk is 3000 years old and is made of red granite quarried in Aswan, standing 22.5 metres high and is one of a pair originally erected in front of the temple in Luxor by Ramses II.
