We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking technique where an artist draws an image directly onto a metal plate using a sharp needle, throwing up a soft ridge of metal called a burr. When inked, this burr retains extra ink, producing characteristic soft, velvety lines in the final printed impression.

Printmakers typically utilized copper or zinc plates worked with steel etching needles. Impressions were pulled onto heavy cotton rag paper using oil-based printing inks, often finished with graphite signatures in the lower margins.

Authentic drypoint prints feature clear plate marks where the copper plate pressed into the damp paper, hand-written pencil signatures outside the image area, and richer, feathered lines indicative of a burr on early impressions.

Monochrome architectural prints integrate seamlessly into classic and contemporary spaces when framed in understated dark wood or black frames. They function effectively when arranged in structured grid gallery walls or hung individually above sideboards and writing desks.

Paper artworks require mounting with acid-free matting materials and framing under UV-protective glass to prevent foxing and fading. Keep prints in a climate-controlled room away from direct sunlight, damp walls, and high humidity.
