Elegant Welsh Oak Low Dresser

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Havard and Havard

An early, Glamorganshire oak low dresser of elegant design and attractively figured timber. The three shallow drawers above a single-piece frieze of undulating and ogee-arched design with a cockbeaded edge, the four front legs of ring and baluster-turned profile, joined by a twin-plank potboard and a broad base moulding with stile feet. The brassware is not original but probably contemporary. Glamorganshire circa 1750-70.
