An exceptional Victorian beer jug trophy with base marks for Henry Bourne, the rising lid inscribed “St James College Athletic Sports 1874, Half Mile 1st, 100yds 2nd, 440yds 2nd. WS Fallon.”

Rising top mounted with gilded cherub, cast Bacchus spout, cast handle, main band Sheffield plated Bacchanalian figures in relief. Silver gilt interior.
