Description

This is a most delightful sculpture by Guy Underwood.

The Bronze has the most wonderful patina, totally complimenting this exquisite detailed piece of work by underwood.

The mouse is sitting on a column and the sculptors attention to detail almost brings the mouse to life. The composition and the physiological accuracy to the stance of the mouse, the tapering tail wrapped and expression of features make this a truly tactile item.

I smile everytime I look at it, and I feel it’s a really delightful treasure.

The mouse sits contemplating his/her next move on the top of a column, which is mounted on a bright white onyx plinth.

The bronze is clearly signed Guy underwood and dated 1934 on the back of the column.

Guy underwood had association with Bermondsey glass works where he skilfully crafted moulds for some of their more saught after works such as “Madonna”.
