Striking Japanese Meiji (late 19thC) bronze of Ebisu, the god of fishermen and luck and one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune. Ebisu is depicted in typical fashion with fishing rod in his right hand and a fish (red) under his left arm, standing on a rock. Foundry mark at rear. Measures 25cm tall, x 14cm wide x 11cm deep. Weight 2.65kg,

Nice crisp casting and patina.
