Prometheus Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The work is signed and dated to the lower right ‘A Harrison 1891’ this is almost certainly Alexander Harrison exh.1885-1908. Alexander Harrison was a very capable but little-known artist who exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy and was elected a full member of the New English Art Club and the Royal Institute of oil painters. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The frame is the original and in good condition although it has been overgilded at some point. The whole has a great look and is ready to hang.
