Description

This interesting PAIR OF FRAMED PAINTINGS show the 4 MASTED BARQUE CARRADALE both in FULL SAIL and with FURLED SAILS in a rough sea.

THE CARRADALE was built by ALEXANDER STEPHEN & SONS of GLASGOW in 1889 for J & A ROXBURGH, GLASGOW SHIP BROKERS.

The PAINTINGS, which date from around 1910, are behind glass in contemporary Edwardian frames. They have not been recently reframed. There are some old repairs which can be seen in the photographs.
