How were cast iron pub tables used?

Cast iron pub tables provided heavy, stable surfaces for patrons in Victorian and Edwardian taverns. Their weighted bases prevented tipping on crowded floors. Today, these robust pieces function well as compact dining spots or characterful hallway tables.

What is the difference between a tea trolley and a cocktail table?

Tea trolleys typically feature two or three wooden tiers on wheels, designed in the Edwardian or 1920s style for afternoon service. Cocktail tables lean towards 1930s Art Deco styling with mirrored glass, walnut veneers, and dedicated spaces for glassware and bottles. Both serve refreshments, but the cocktail table reflects a more decadent evening use.

Are butlers trays attached to their stands?

Traditional butlers trays lift straight off their folding wooden stands so the tray itself can carry items independently. This portable design made them practical for domestic service in the nineteenth century. When placed back on the stand, they form a steady temporary table.
