Many pieces feature visible signatures or artist inscriptions, while others remain attributed to specific regional schools or marked as works by unknown makers. Documentation on individual canvases often records specific continental towns and mountain ranges.

What mediums are used in these artworks?

Artists employed oil paint on canvas, board, and panel, alongside watercolours on paper and woven tapestries. Supports are frequently housed in period wooden frames, some featuring gesso and giltwood details.
