How do quartetto tables work?

These sets consist of four separate tables made in graduating sizes. Each smaller table slides smoothly underneath the next larger one until the entire set forms a single compact stack. This design allows owners to pull out individual surfaces as needed for drinks or books while keeping floor space clear when the tables are stored.

What woods were used?

Mahogany forms the primary timber across the record, appearing both plain and figured. Walnut, burr walnut, and satinwood also feature prominently in the construction. Inlayers added contrasting details using boxwood and rosewood stringing or banding around the edges of the tabletops.

Are these tables sturdy?

The lightweight construction is intended for light occasional use rather than heavy weight-bearing tasks. They function well as lamp, coffee, side, or wine tables. Each table relies on slender legs and precise clearance margins to slide into position without scraping the adjoining frames.

How do I spot Sheraton style?

Sheraton style influence appears through refined tapered legs, straight structural lines, and classical inlay motifs. These pieces often feature satinwood banding and polished mahogany surfaces. The aesthetic prioritises geometric clarity and light proportions rather than heavy ornamentation.
