We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Provincial French dressers originated as functional utility furniture in rural farmhouses during the 18th and 19th centuries, combining open plate display shelves with enclosed lower storage for daily culinary items.

These pieces were typically constructed from regional European timbers such as pine, cherry, or oak, featuring traditional joinery like hand-cut dovetails, wooden pegs, and pegged mortise and tenon frames.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of age-related wear, hand-planed surfaces, irregular tool marks, period-appropriate hardware, and shrinkage cracks in the solid timber panels.

An antique dresser can serve as a focal point in a contemporary kitchen or dining space, used to display modern ceramics or everyday tableware to create a balanced mix of old and new.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and sunlight, and periodically nourish the timber with natural beeswax while avoiding modern silicone-based polishes.
