Anna Gardell-Ericson (1853-1939)
Anna Gardell-Ericson was a Swedish visual artist born in Visby. She studied in Stockholm and Paris where she had an impression of outdoor painting. Gardell-Ericson had great success at the Paris and England salons. She painted mainly in watercolour and her motif is often taken from the Gotland and Bohuslän coast and Slottsskogen in Gothenburg. Gardell-Ericson has also painted marine motifs that rarely have a romantic skimmer. During the academy, Gardiner has painted watercolors with motifs from Stockholm and Gotland. Inspired by the French open air painting she depicted the landscape around Paris and continued after the marriage with Johan Ericsson and her return to Gothenburg to portray the Bohuslän archipelago. Represented at the National Museum in Stockholm and at the Gothenburg Art Museum.
