Kings-Lane has dated this 19th Century Steel Engraving to the 1860s.
Engraved by the prominent Scottish American engraver John C.

This is an authentic antique intaglio print, featuring finely detailed cross-hatched engraving lines and soft, translucent watercolour washes applied entirely by hand.
The reverse of the sheet beautifully exhibits a crisp, deep indentation from the original metal printing plate alongside natural paper cockling, verifying its mid-Victorian age and production method.

The print is safely hinge-mounted onto a clean white display mat board and is ready for framing. A wonderful, genuine piece of early Americana and architectural history.
