Surface: Traditional Japanese washi paper
Artist and Signature: Attributed to Shoda Koho
Mid-20th century Japanese printmaker associated with the Shin-hanga tradition.

Japanese Fisherman Scene:
A second fisherman can be seen in the distance, creating depth within the composition.

The design is notable for its elegant vertical format and large areas of negative space, hallmarks of mid-20th century Japanese printmaking. The soft colour transitions in the water and sky, together with the delicate line work, create a tranquil coastal scene capturing a traditional moment of Japanese fishing life.

This charming composition reflects the aesthetic of the Shin-hanga movement, which revived traditional Japanese woodblock techniques while incorporating modern artistic sensibilities.
Approximate age of artwork: Circa 1950–1970

Is the artwork Framed or Mounted: Framed, as shown (Offered Free with the Painting)
Condition Report: The print is in good vintage condition overall. There is light age-related toning to the paper (see above the fisher mans head) and evidence of previous mounting around the edges, which appears to have resulted in trimmed margins. The colours remain attractive and the delicate woodblock lines are still clearly visible. Please review all photographs carefully to assess the condition.
Size of artwork (incl. frame): 19 x 39 cm (mount aperture approx. 7 x 17 cm)
