The Taisho period (1912-1926) in Japan marked a bridge between traditional craftsmanship and modern artistic expression, heavily influenced by both indigenous techniques and Western sculptural styles.

Artisans typically utilised the lost-wax casting method, working with bronze alloys often finished with patination agents to achieve deep, dark tones.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the casting quality, the natural wear of the patination, weight, and often the presence of artist signatures or foundry marks on the base.

Placing the piece on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or executive desk allows it to serve as a sophisticated focal point within a study or living area.

Bronze should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth and kept away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight to preserve the original patina.
