The Discobolus, originally sculpted by Myron in ancient Greece, represents the peak of classical athletic movement and human anatomy in art.

These pieces are typically produced using the lost-wax casting method, resulting in solid or hollow patinated bronze figures with varying depths of colour.

Authenticity is determined by examining the quality of the chasing work, the depth and stability of the patina, weight, and foundry markings if present.

Placing the sculpture on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece adds architectural weight and classical contrast to modern or transitional spaces.

Bronze should be dusted gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and occasionally treated with microcrystalline wax to protect the patination from moisture.
