Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian cast iron jardiniere stand dates from 1880 and comes in an off-white painted finish. The three-tiered piece has crisp castings incorporating cherubs, masks, dolphin feet, scrolled friezes, and pierced scrollwork trays with acanthus foliage motifs. Turned supports hold the tiers together above scrolled feet resting on the floor. The structure measures 85 cm high by 43 cm square. Position this jardiniere stand in a sunlit conservatory or a bright bay window to display potted plants, trailing foliage, or decorative ceramics. The openwork trays and compact footprint allow it to fit neatly into corners or against walls while providing multiple display surfaces within a room.

A cast iron jardiniere stand is a decorative furniture piece developed during the nineteenth century to elevate and display potted plants, botanical arrangements, or urns inside homes and conservatories.

These stands were produced by pouring molten pig iron into sand moulds, creating intricate relief detailing such as acanthus leaves, openwork lattice, and turned structural uprights.

Authentic period examples exhibit heavy weight, sharp casting detail from traditional sand-moulding techniques, subtle surface seam irregularities, and evidence of historical paint layers or natural oxidisation.

Place the stand in a sunroom, hallway, or bathroom to hold trailing indoor plants, ceramic collections, or folded linens, creating vertical interest and architectural texture.

Dust surfaces regularly using a dry soft brush and address any emerging rust by gently cleaning with fine steel wool before applying a protective coat of clear wax.
