Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

A Welsh dog kennel dresser is a traditional piece of regional British furniture featuring a central open compartment flanked by cupboards beneath a countertop and plate rack, historically used in rural cottages for storing kitchenware and occasionally housing a working dog.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid English oak, often incorporating secondary woods such as deal or pine for internal elements, joined using traditional hand-cut dovetails, pegged mortise and tenon joints, and backboards made from wide planks.

Authenticity is identified through period-appropriate timber patination, hand-beveled drawer linings with hand-cut dovetails, original brass or wooden hardware, and signs of genuine age such as shrinkage cracks, historical tool marks, and wear patterns.

An antique Welsh dresser can be integrated into modern spaces by using the open plate rack to display contemporary ceramics, mixing traditional wood tones with minimalist decor, or placing it in a kitchen or dining room as a focal storage unit.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and periodically applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood without damaging the historic finish.
