Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Mid-century still life painting often focuses on everyday objects and botanicals, blending realistic depiction with expressive brushwork and textured colour palettes.

These works typically utilise stretched linen or cotton canvas mounted on wooden stretcher bars, finished with artist-grade oil paints and protective varnishes.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit genuine canvas ageing, oxidised oil pigments, traditional wooden wedge stretchers, and period-appropriate framing techniques.

Pair the artwork with neutral walls and organic textures to let the rich colours of the canvas stand out as a focal point.

Keep paintings away from direct sunlight, maintain stable indoor humidity levels, and gently dust the canvas using a soft, dry brush.
