Antique Waltham Pocket Watch and Chain

Antique Waltham pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a signed grade 610 stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This grade of movement was in production from 1908 until 1934. The serial number, 16,990,706, dates this one to 1908. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Birmingham based case maker, Aaron Dennison. Dennisons supplied most of the cases for Waltham UK. The case has a couple of small bruises to the side, and some unevenness to the hinged case back.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The signed dial looks good to the naked eye. If viewed through a magnifying loupe, there is a short very faint hairline between 9 and 10. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes with later vintage single chain, 29cm long, and fob. The chain and watch are slightly different shades of gold but they sit nicely together.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
