Antique Silver Art Deco Wrist Watch

Antique silver Art Deco wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch is a good wearable size at 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for

London 1927 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell.

From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The case has the odd mark and a little unevenness to the back but overall the condition is good for such an early piece.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and inner minute markers. There is some age related darkening to the dial but still easy to read.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a vintage box, not the original but still nice to have.
