Antique Waltham Traveler pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a seven jewel Traveler grade stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 18,578,020 which dates it back to 1912. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold filled Moon model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, the Birmingham based case maker and supplier to Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just a little gentle unevenness to the back, nothing too serious at all. There are a previous owner’s initials in the cartouche on the back of the watch.

The glass lens has a light scratch but otherwise is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes with an unusual Victorian rose and yellow rolled gold albert, stamped ‘pat Feb 20 1877’. The albert measures 29cm long. There are signs of age but an interesting item.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
