FAQs

To preserve fabric paintings, display them away from direct sunlight to prevent dye fading, maintain stable indoor humidity levels, and frame them behind UV-protective glazing.

A large vibrant textile painting serves as a striking focal point above a sofa or sideboard, pairing well with neutral walls and minimalist furnishings to highlight its rich colours and textures.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit characteristic fine crackle lines where dye has penetrated the wax, hand-painted brushwork, artist signatures, and characteristic textile weaves.

Artisans apply hot liquid wax using a canting tool or copper block onto fabric to outline designs, followed by painting with dyes and boiling out the wax to reveal the intricate patterns.

Malaysian batik painting is a traditional craft evolved from textile printing using wax-resist dyeing techniques on natural fabrics like cotton or silk, gaining prominence as a fine art form during the mid-20th century.
