Silver Longines half hunter pocket watch, 1918.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Longines calibre 18.68N, which is working nicely. The movement has the serial number 3576742 which dates it back to 1917. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 48.8mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the covers for London (import mark), 1918 with an importer's mark for Arthur Baume, Baume & Co were the importers of Longines watches to the UK and the British Empire.

Overall, the case is in good condition, just a few small “dings”. The front cover has a central lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals (some of the infill has come out although not over noticeable).

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.

The dial has a couple of very faint hairline cracks between 4 and 8 although not over noticeable to the naked eye.

The watch has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
