Description

A superb Georgian mahogany chest of drawers dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. Each drawer has solid fronts with their original turned knobs and joined by superbly cut dovetail joints. The drawers are flanked by attractive inset columns and the chest stands on small ogee shaped bracket feet. It is an excellent quality piece, very well made and the colour and patina of the mahogany is wonderful.

It is in excellent original condition. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks on the top, a few knocks around the feet and a few minor repairs but nothing untoward or detrimental. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well, having had the runners recently repaired or replaced. The back is sturdy and the chest has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
