1920s Albana full hunter pocket watch by Tavannes

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is stamped Albana U.W.C, Swiss made and US pat 24 May 1904 which confirms that the movement was made by Tavannes.

Cyma was founded by two brothers, Joseph and Theodore Schwob, in 1862. In 1892 they decided to go into partnership with Frédéric Henri Sandoz, owner of Henri Sandoz et Cie. The Cyma name was officially registered in 1903. Sandoz used the most modern of manufacturing processes and produced very high quality time-pieces, trademarked as Tavannes, Cyma and Cyma Tavannes. Their excellent reputation for quality meant that by 1910, Tavannes / Cyma were one of the largest Swiss watch manufacturers in existence.

The watch measures 50.2mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made in England by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks and a couple of small "dings" nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.

The dial is in nice condition.

The watch its original blued steel hands.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
