M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
. Fitted 2 short and three long drawers to the upper section, above a three long drawer base.

The flat , panelled top above a dentil moulded cornice , the canted corners of the upper section with crisply-carved ‘blind-fret’ detail in the ‘Chinese Chippendale’ manner . The oak-lined ‘cock-beaded’ edge drawers fitted with rococo-style cast gilt-brass ‘swan-neck’ handles with pierced back-plates .

Fitted all original locks and ‘beaded’ brass key escutcheons (keys lacking ) .
In excellent original condition , having the original ‘skin’ and surface , and having achieved a rich colour and patina to the well-chosen grade of figured mahogany .
A capacious Georgian mahogany chest of practical scale , and of outstanding quality.
