Description

Fine quality Louis XVI style marquetry inlaid marble top commode or chest of drawers c.1930. Highly figured marble top with serpentine shaped and moulded edges over a bombé chest with two large drawers. Tulipwood veneers inlaid with very attractive foliate marquetry decoration across the front and sides within inlaid and crossbanded surrounds. Fabulous large gilded brass mounts, handles and escutcheons. Shaped bottom edge to the lower drawer, repeated on the cabinet sides. Curving legs with further brass mounts to the front feet. Oak drawer linings and back panels. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
