Description

A lovely figured walnut Louis Philippe commode with its original marble top, this has a narrow top drawer with three others below. The movable marble is dark grey with white veining and has a groove around the edge, with angled corners. The piece stands on attractively designed bracket feet which have an almost Art Deco styling to their shape. A good quality attractive commode which will provide a practical display surface and storage for any space.

Dating to circa 1840, this is made of figured walnut and originates from France.

In good age related condition, the marble is not chipped and the piece stands well to the floor. There is a crack in the base of the bottom drawer, but this does not impede functionality. There is some historic cracking to the wood at the sides. The original key is available and the locks work.
