Description

Late 18th.c. French oak dresser base c.1780. Very sturdy construction in solid oak throughout. Two plank top with an incised plate groove at the back, canted front corners and a simple moulded edge. Over three drawers and a two door cupboard fitted with a single shelf (depth 19"), plus a divider below the shelf. A very attractive example of the form with moulded drawer fronts and unusually shaped raised and fielded door panels within arch moulded surrounds carved with a scroll detail at the apex. Large brass knobs, hinges and escutcheons. Canted corners also moulded, raised and fielded panel sides. Deep moulded trim across the bottom at the front edge and raised on simple claw feet. Excellent condition and lovely mellow colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard keys supplied.
