Stunning Antique Early 17th Century Period Oak Sideboard Dresser C1619 James 1st Yorkshire/westmorland Origin Wdb6145/22.11

This is a stunning early 17th century carved oak sideboard / dresser and dating from around 1620 originating from the lake district/ westmorland. The carved strapping to the top has the date of 1619 to the centre. Beautifully carved and panelled back with ball turned column supports above a carved oak base with 1.1/4" plank top above a large panelled door to the centre and two further doors to either side above which are two small drawers. It stands on ball turned feet it is hand and peg joined with iron hinges to the centre door.

Just a little note of interest. It has its rough hewn plank back with some carving where an apprentice has practised his art.

The top separates from the base for ease of transporting.

In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the oak oozing the charm and character of the early 17th century oak period.
