Substantial 19th Century ‘Country House’ elm hall bench. 

The arched back with angled panels and flanked with carved finials, above scroll arms with pierced carved trefoils and solid quatrefoils, solid seats and raised on carved slab end supports with chamfered corners.

Well figured timber and good colour with matching patina. Also available as a pair!

This nineteenth-century country house bench is formed of warm brown elm with a well-figured grain and matching patina. The Gothic Revival style piece stands 96 cm high, 127 cm wide and 56 cm deep. The arched backrest holds angled chevron panels, flanked by upright posts topped with carved acorn finials. Scroll arms sit above a solid seat, while the lower frame includes pierced trefoil cut-outs and a central roundel. The slab end supports feature chamfered corners and rest directly on the floor.
