Georgian Mahogany and Brass Inlaid Cabinet

19th century
Description

Very unusual and with lovely smaller proportions late Georgian pale mahogany and brass inlaid two door cabinet with a single full width drawer above, circa 1800.

The cabinet has an ecclesiastical feel with the arched mouldings to the doors and further brass inlay to the panels.

The cabinet has a fabulous pale mahogany tone and the grain patterns are really super, the brass is not brightly polished so it also has a mellow glow and isn’t too harsh.

Smaller proportions to this cabinet, so it will work in a number of places…great piece of furniture and curiously it is on castors which look to be original. They’re completely hidden so the plinth sits just off the floor, almost like it’s floating.

Some good age marks but nothing more than you expect from 200 + years and under many many coats of beeswax. Any queries, don’t hesitate to contact me.
