Description

Here is a handsome antique silver plated lidded beer tankard cider jug or flagon. Stylishly engraved with leaves flowers tassels and scrolls around a vacant cartouche. Raised thumb piece with a shell. Figural head of a man to the front and a woman to the back below a shaped handle. This has been resilvered. c1880 British made with a makers mark for George Shadford & Henry Wigfull of Sheffield stamped underneath.

This has been registered with Government U.K. as made before 3 March 1947 with less than 10% ivory. The tankard has small ivory insulators on the handle and an ivory finial. Exemption certificate submission reference: PLAB35BN
