Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The fronts of the drawers are decorated in deeply moulded Panels and applied turnings, the handles and escutcheons are in brass and the chest stands on raised bun feet.

The chest has a very pleasant patina, there is an old shrinkage split on one of the drawer fronts, there is a repair to one corner of the top and one foot at the back, all very acceptable with an original piece this age
The chest stands 32” high, it is 30” wide and 18” deep
