Description

Antique silver pocket watch, 1911.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement which is working nicely.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is nicely engraved with the wording, ‘Presented to Sidney H Wright, by his affectionate father, on his 21st birthday, Sep 5 1911’.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Swiss hallmarks for 935 silver inside both of the case backs. The case has minor mark and some slight unevenness to the back but overall is in good condition for such an early piece.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, W J Carroll who had two premises in London. The dial has some discolouration to the sub seconds dial and possibly a faint hairline (or scratch) between 4 and 5 but difficult to see with the naked eye. Pin-set blued steel hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
