The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The watch has a jewelled stem-winding movement, in a gilt finish, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company in Elgin, USA. The case is in lovely condition and has a handsome sunburst pattern to both the front and back. The front cover has a cartouche with the initials HC or CH.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition.
The dial is in good condition. Lovely ornate hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
