Gents 1950s Delbana wrist watch.

The watch has a 17-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. The rotor is signed with the Delbana Watch name, and also with the name Bidynator.

Early automatic watches had been powered with bumper movements where the rotor bounced backwards and forwards between springs. Rolex subsequently developed a full rotor system where the rotor moved in one direction - this movement was protected by a patent. Felsa subsequently developed an automatic movement where the rotor moved in both directions and this bi-directional was duly named the Bidynator.

The watch is a really good wearable size at 36mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated, there is some wear but not too detrimental to the naked eye. The screw-on case back is stainless steel, it is signed with the Delbana name and it also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand with red pointer end and outer minute markers. There is light marking across the dial but very acceptable for a 1950s piece.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
