Beautifully figured walnut French Louis Philippe style commode with original moulded edge marble top, circa 1880.The chest has five full width drawers so offers great storage but without any sacrifice on style! The drawers all have their locks too, and being typical of French commodes the key is used to open all the drawers, used as a drawer pull. If you would rather have some old brass handles or knobs fitted tot he drawers, please let me know as this is absolutely no problem at all.There is a top “frieze” drawer just under the marble, three below and also another hidden drawer in the plinth too. All open smoothly and are solid oak lined.Wonderful colour and grain to the book matched figured walnut veneers and do see how the veneers run for each drawer and into the chest frame itself, so this is a very well made piece of furniture.
