Antique Waltham Traveler pocket watch, 1903.

The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement, Traveler grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 12,898,485 which dates it back to 1903. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1912 with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. The Dennison Watch Case Company manufactured most of the cases for Waltham UK. The case has light surface marking but overall is in good condition.

There is a discrepancy between the serial number date and the hallmark date. There is no scar damage which suggests the case has always had a Traveler grade movement. It may have been more economical to change the movement or the case in the event of serious damage.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition, just a very short faint hairline underneath the subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
