Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The reeded decoration is very bold, especially to the spandrels below the middle drawer which also has a central medallion with reel turned borders and two recessed panels. The legs are again reeded and have nicely shaped collars at the base. The top has, again a very bold bull-nose moulding with an attractive stripey mahogany veneer which is all a good rich colour and in excellent condition, as is the entire piece. A very striking piece of furniture that is quality through and through.
