Gents 9ct Gold Vertex Wrist Watch, 1955

1940 - 1960
Description

Gents 9ct gold Vertex wrist watch, 1955.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand winding movement, signed Vertex, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1955 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. Dennisons was a Birmingham based case maker and supplier to various watch manufacturers. The case is in good condition, just general light marks but nothing serious at all. There is a long service inscription from W H Smith.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is light marking to the dial but again, nothing too detrimental.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
