The Victorian mahogany sideboard, comprises a straight-edged breakfront top with a moulded underside, above a breakfront base, with a serpentine shaped centre. The Victorian mahogany sideboard, boasts scroll shape carved corbels to the top corners of the left- and right-hand cupboards. Between the central cupboards, at the top, is a single, central serpentine shaped frieze drawer with a blind frieze handle. The drawer is mahogany lined, with hand dovetail construction and boasts a quarter beaded interior (a sign of quality). Below, are four flame mahogany moulded arch panelled cupboards doors. The right-hand, centre-right and right-hand doors all retain their original working lock, with a key which operates the left-hand and right-hand doors, and another key which operates the centre-right door. The centre-left door retains its original brass sliding bolt latches. The doors open to reveal cupboards, with the left-hand cupboard comprising a single drawer, above two pull-out sliding trays. To the central cupboard is a single, central shelf. The right-hand cupboard includes a single drawer to the top, above a shelf, and a large storage area below. The chiffonier stands on a lovely protruding chamfered plinth, with the back of the chiffonier retaining its original pine backboards. This Victorian mahogany sideboard is of fine quality, with a high standard of construction. This is a single piece item and does not dismantle.
