The Victorian mahogany sideboard, boasts scroll shape carved corbels to the top corners of the left- and right-hand cupboards. Between the central cupboards, at the top, is a single, central serpentine shaped frieze drawer with a blind frieze handle. The drawer is mahogany lined, with hand dovetail construction and boasts a quarter beaded interior (a sign of quality). Below, are four flame mahogany moulded arch panelled cupboards doors. The right-hand, centre-right and right-hand doors all retain their original working lock, with a key which operates the left-hand and right-hand doors, and another key which operates the centre-right door. The centre-left door retains its original brass sliding bolt latches. The doors open to reveal cupboards, with the left-hand cupboard comprising a single drawer, above two pull-out sliding trays. To the central cupboard is a single, central shelf. The right-hand cupboard includes a single drawer to the top, above a shelf, and a large storage area below. The chiffonier stands on a lovely protruding chamfered plinth, with the back of the chiffonier retaining its original pine backboards. This Victorian mahogany sideboard is of fine quality, with a high standard of construction. This is a single piece item and does not dismantle.

Condition Report:
Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The sideboard has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination of mahogany is of an excellent standard. There are no stains or watermarks to the top. The drawer and doors close flush to the frame; they are not warped and there are no splits to the door panels. The drawers are mahogany lined and feature dovetail construction and quarter beaded interior (a sign of quality). The left-hand, centre-right & right-hand doors retain their original working locks (with working keys) and the centre-right door retains the original brass sliding bolt latches. The carcass is solid in joint with no loose movements and there is no missing veneer. The Victorian mahogany sideboard stands on its original block plinth. This is a single piece item and does not dismantle. This Victorian mahogany sideboard is solid in joint and is ready to be used.
