The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little scratching from where it has been opened in the past.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1882 together with the initials AB for Alfred Bedford, Manager of Waltham UK.
The case is in good condition, just a small “ding” to the bezel and rubbing to the edge of the engine turned detail on the back of the watch.
The watch glass has general light marking.
The dial is in its lovely condition and blued steel hands (lever set), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
